The Department of Homeland Security continues, apparently, to regard conservatives as potentially enemies, as evidenced by a document
entitled "Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States
1970-2008". In this report on pages 11-12, the following
'characteristics' of potential enemies are listed:
Returning veterans have also been listed as potential terrorists.
A Phoenix FBI office urged citizens and law enforcement to call the Joint Terrorism Task Force if they encounter "defenders of the US Constitution against federal government and UN" as well as those who "Make numerous references to the US Constitution."
- Americans who are fiercely nationalist
- Anti-global
- Suspicious of centralized federal authority
- Reverent of INDIVIDUAL liberty (especially gun ownership)
- Have a belief in "conspiracy theories that involve grave threats to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty and a belief that one's personal and/or national way of life is under attack."
